Terms of use

These terms govern your use of playset.cards (the "Site"), the signing service it uses (the "Service"), and Playset pools on the Solana blockchain (together, "Playset"), all offered by Shyguy LLC, an Idaho limited liability company ("we", "us"). By using the Site or signing a transaction it shows you, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Playset.

1. What Playset is

A Playset pool holds graded slabs of one card at one grade. Each slab's token sits inside its own wrapper, a Metaplex Core asset. The Site shows each pool and, when you ask, gets a quote from the Service: a transaction priced on the pool's published line, which the Service signs its half of. Your wallet shows you the transaction; you decide whether to sign and send it. We do not hold your keys, cannot sign for you, and cannot reverse a transaction once it is on chain.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter these terms. You may not use Playset if you are located in, organised in or a resident of a jurisdiction where doing so is unlawful, or if you are a person or entity subject to sanctions administered by the United States or the jurisdiction you are in. You are responsible for knowing and complying with the laws that apply to you, including tax obligations.

3. Units, wrappers and cards

A unit is a fungible token; each pool's units are minted 100 per slab wrapped into it, and 100 units can be swapped for any wrapper still in that pool. A wrapper is a token whose own account holds one slab's token. Neither is an equity interest in, debt of, or claim against Shyguy LLC, and we make no representation that units, wrappers or slabs will hold or gain value. The owner of a wrapper can move the slab's token out of it at any time without us.

The physical slabs are custodied by a third party (Collector Crypt) and represented on Solana by that party's tokens. We do not custody the physical slabs. The tokens remain subject to that party's own terms, including its ability to freeze or move them.

Consignment. With a Playset account and a confirmed email, you may ask us to accept a Collector Crypt token for a slab that matches a pool's card and grade, by signing a request (a message, not a transaction). If we approve, we create an empty wrapper in that pool's collection that belongs to you, and you may then move the token into it and the wrapper into the pool's escrow with one transaction of your own; until you do, nothing of yours moves. Once the slab is in the pool, we mint its units into Playset's inventory, and the slab is part of the pool: anyone who swaps 100 units for its wrapper can take it out, and you receive no units. An approval lapses after 7 days, and we then mark the unused wrapper void. When a consigned slab is taken out of the pool, we pay you, in SOL, the amount the pool page shows for that slab's place in the order slabs leave — the line's value of the 100 units it retires — without a fee. If it is never taken out, nothing is paid. Before its wrapper is needed to back units buyers hold, you may ask for it back and we will return it to the wallet it came from.

Loyalty. Activity from wallets linked to a Playset account — machine pulls, unit trades, consignments and units held — earns points, which set a tier for the trailing 90 days. A tier may earn a rebate on machine pulls, paid weekly in USDC to the wallet that pulled, at the rates and within the weekly cap shown on the Account page. Points have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold or redeemed for anything else, and are not an interest in Playset or Shyguy LLC. We may change the rates, the cap, the thresholds or end the programme; a change applies to pulls after it, and rebates already earned are paid. We may withhold points or rebates gained by abuse — for example, trades made only to earn points.

4. Quotes

A quote states every amount the transaction moves — the price on the line, our fee, and any fee to a third party — and is valid for a short time. We may decline to quote, for example when a pool cannot back more units, when sell-backs are paused because the Service is low on SOL, or for any reason that protects the pool. A quote that has expired fails on chain and moves nothing.

5. Fees

We charge the fees shown on each pool page and in every quote before you sign: currently 2% of the price on buys and on sell-backs; 0.01 SOL to take a whole slab with 100 units; and a 2.5% royalty when a wrapper is resold on a marketplace that honours royalties. Taking a slab's token out of its wrapper carries no fee from us. Metaplex charges its own protocol fee on swaps through its escrow, and Solana charges network fees; neither is ours. We may change our fees for future quotes by updating the pool page; a fee never changes in a quote you have already signed.

6. No advice, no warranty

Nothing on the Site is investment, financial, legal or tax advice. The Site and the Service are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy or uninterrupted operation. Blockchains, wallets, RPC providers, Metaplex's programs and custodians are outside our control.

7. Risks

Using Playset carries real risk, including total loss. Read the risk disclosure; it is part of these terms.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shyguy LLC and its members, managers, employees and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost tokens, lost cards or lost data, arising from or related to Playset, however caused. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; where they do not apply, our liability is limited to the extent the law allows.

9. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of Playset, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

10. Intellectual property and third parties

The Site's design, text and marks are ours. Card images are Collector Crypt's and are credited where they appear. Pokémon, PSA, Collector Crypt and other names are trademarks of their owners; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.

11. Changes and termination

We may change these terms by posting a new version here with a new date. We may change, pause or stop the Site or the Service at any time. Stopping them does not affect what you hold: units and wrappers stay in your wallet, and a wrapper's owner can always move its slab's token out without us.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ada County, Idaho, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in force.

One pool per character, set and grade.

A playset holds every printing of one character from one expansion at one grade from one grader.

WHAT RUNS WHERE.

Playset has no program of its own. Slabs, wrappers and the escrow run on Metaplex's audited, deployed programs; prices come from a small signing service whose every trade is a public Solana transaction. Your wallet signs only what the page showed you first.

Wrappers
Metaplex Core assets, one collection per pool. Each wrapper has its own wallet (Core's asset signer) that holds the slab's token — a Collector Crypt Core asset or pNFT.
Escrow
MPL-Hybrid. 100 units take a wrapper out of the pool; an empty wrapper buys nothing back.
Signer
— prices each trade on the line and signs its half. It holds unsold units — never more than a capped amount — and the SOL that pays for sell-backs. Nothing else.
Line
p(s) = p₀ · (1 + s / k), where s counts every unit sold, net of sell-backs — including the units a slab retires when it leaves, so a slab leaving moves nothing. With k = 100 the price doubles across one slab's units. Selling back pays the line's value at that point.
Depositors
the depositor of the j-th slab to leave is paid the line's value from (j − 1)·100 to j·100, by the signer, with a memo playset release <pool> j=<j>. The signer refuses any payout or sell-back that would leave it unable to buy back every unit buyers hold.
Fees
2% on buys and on sell-backs, a separate line in the transaction; 0.01 SOL to take a whole slab, plus about 0.005 SOL to Metaplex; 2.5% royalty if a slab is resold on a marketplace. Taking the card out, consigning a slab and depositor payments: free.
The rule
units held by buyers never exceed 100 × the slabs in the pool. The signer checks it on every quote and refuses anything that would break it.
The card out
the wrapper's owner moves the card to their own wallet with Core's execute and burns the empty wrapper in the same transaction. No Playset signature is involved, so none can be withheld.
